Peter Maddison-Greenwell Clinics
Feedback from the 16th January Clinic
Hi all, again thanks to all those who supported and took part in January's clinic. Indeed we had a great spectator turnout and some new horse and rider combinations. Including Sabine Fox and Andvari (Icelandic Horse), Sally Bullow and Lucy (Andalusian Mare) and Sue Pinks and her Andalusian Gelding.

Peter very kindly opened the clinic by riding my 15hh Welsh Section D (Chunk) who has proved to be more of a challenge to bring on then I had expected when I bought him. His major problems have been due to incorrect and inconsistent schooling and thus starting a fresh in the school has been a learning curve for both myself and Chunk. Peter worked him in walk and trot, concentrating mainly on forward thinking, on Chunk's part and also in relaxing and flexing him on circles and corners. By the end of the session Chunk was showing a longer stride and a more relaxed frame, which are the building blocks for any further training. Again I must thank Peter for riding him and also for his talking us spectators through the session.

The clinic had a diverse selection of horses and riders, ranging from the horse taking his first true flying changes, a great crowd pleaser, to two juniors working towards flexing and settling their ponies and their first taste of the intricacies of correct schooling. All in all the clinic was an eye opener, especially with reference to a number of the horses, who were showing real improvement at the end of their sessions.

The next clinic in March looks to be as informative and is now completely booked, looking forward to seeing some of the clinic's regulars and also some new faces.
Regards, CB
