The Honnington Riding Club's
Summer Show 29th August 2008
We were pleased to see quite a few first time winners at this year's summer show, starting with Rosie Roff and Monty winning the In Hand class. They were just ahead of Alex M with Tommy - or 'funny looking person' as our judge referred to him - although we're not quite sure if she meant Tommy or his owner(!) Lily P riding Titch won the (non-canter) Best Rider class; Melissa with Crumble won the main Best Rider class, narrowly beating Lauran Taylor riding Mister Moo.
The Horse and Groom jumping class was won by Lauran Taylor riding Sam with Hayley P the runner. There was a well deserved win by Paige Wolfe with Bronté in the Minimus jumping class. The 2'-2'3" class was won by Melissa T with Crumble, just one second ahead of Louise Salvidge riding Rhubarb in the jump-off.
The team relay jumping class winners were Robyn Turl with Casper and Lauran T with Sam - over 10 seconds in front of the nearest competitors.
The double clear winner in the 2'6" class was Hayley P with Sam. The double clear winner in the 2'9' class was Robyn Turl with Casper. Into the final class - the 3'0" - Rupert was well-ridden by Rachel C to win with a superb double clear.
It was good to see quite a few first time winners, but for the first time ever someone had the cheek to win the Championship twice running! Well done to Lauran Taylor (with Sam) the Championship Winner and to Robyn Turl (riding Casper) the Reserve Champion.
