Honnington Riding Club Easter Show
This year, the honours were evenly shared with 11 individual winners. In fact, any one of 5 competitors going into the final class - Top Score - could have won the Championship. The overall champion was Curt riding Marley, with joint reserve champions Dannie riding Bud and Abi with Jade.
The Tack and Turnout class winner was Rachel with Crumble - the judge commenting on the high standards achieved by all entrants. The clear winner in the Best Rider class was Georgia with Omega. Georgia was also given the 'Most Improved Rider' award. Winning the 'Riding Horse or Pony' class was Abi riding Jade.

In Hand class competitor Katie with Jackson.
The In Hand red rosette was closely fought for - Toni winning with Epona, just 1 point ahead of Vanessa with India and Katie with Jackson the joint runner-ups.
The jumping classes were staged in the afternoon, starting with the Horse and Hound class. The triumphant team was Dannie, Bud and Tor with a 10 second margin over second placed Jo, Tammy and Tosca. The team relay jumping class had the unlikely outcome of joint winners - Nicole/Elmo's Next Chapter and Josh/Diablo's Dream sharing the honours with Abi/Jade and Jo/Tammy.
Just 3 riders went clear in the Novice Show Jumping class with Curt riding Marley winning by 9 seconds in the jump-off. Only 2 went clear in the Intermediate class (2'6"-2'9"), Dannie with Bud winning in the jump-off. The Top Score jumping class was divided into 2 with under 14.2 and over 14.2 sub-sections. Hayley with Rupert won the ponies' class - by 19 points. The over 14.2 class had joint winners - Dannie with Bud and Curt riding Marley.
The show was deemed a success; with the prospect of bigger and better events in the future. We very much appreciated the diligent work carried out by judges Sarah and Simon Travis and Lauren Wilson.
