Meet Big Dave and Hot Dog
Over the last few months, Big Dave and Hot Dog have been keeping some of the Riding School ponies company - they make really good 'companion' ponies. Big Dave and Hot Dog are very curious about anything going on around them. While some horses may spook at something, donkeys will want to come and investigate.

Big Dave and Hot Dog are both geldings. A female donkey is called a jenny; a stallion is called a jack. The gestation period for donkeys averages 11-13 months. Donkeys usually produce single births, though the birth of twins has been recorded.

The horses at Honnington have shown a wide range of reactions to Big Dave and Hot Dog. Some snort very aggressively and want to get as far away from them as possible, whereas some are fascinated by them and will come up and say hello. Molly has fallen in love with Big Dave and will sometimes spend quite a while licking him all over. Molly quite enjoys her liasons with her new toy boy!
